Expecting Adam: A True Story of Birth, Rebirth, and Everyday Magic Expecting Adam: A True Story of Birth, Rebirth, and Everyday Magic by Martha Beck

This book was absolutely amazing. It's about a couple who struggle with a change in ideals. When the main character becomes pregnant with Adam, a boy with down syndrome, she has to drastically change her mind about disabled people. There are terrifying moments, sad moments, and very happy ones. I found myself laughing out loud a lot! (and even feeling very calm or sad at points...) Loved it. It's a must read:)

This book is really cool, because it is written from the perspective of someone with autism. That also makes it really hard to read.

This book is almost heartbreaking until you get toward the ending. The struggles Cynnie endures almost make the ending warm and fuzzy...

I'm getting A's I should be happy right??

Not necessarily.
I've had the first interview for LUSH. The second is today with a different branch, and i have an on floor audition on Saturday during my shift at the wine shop. I am going to the audition, because LUSH has the potential to offer me more hours though I do not know what they pay yet. I should ask. I have lied to the wine shop and told them that I have a family emergency... I sort of do... it's called finding a means to pay the rent next month... neither here nor there. I haven't called out yet.. just looked to cover.
I know Tracy is the type to PSHAW at requests like these... all in the stress of running a shop I suppose...
So today consists of closing my charter one account(see ranty post), interviewing at LUSH water tower, and working at the wine shop.
the second two sound like fun, but I am stressed about them...
I will be in the mood for sleep or drinks (maybe even a long bike ride) when it is finished!

This is one of my favorites!! So much so I've baked it twice this week! haha. I picked it up from Veg News, and it's a recipe from the Sticky Fingers Bakery in DC.  I use Smart balance, natural sugar, whole wheat flour, tropical source chocolate chips, and vanilla soy milk:)

Makes One Loaf:

1/3 cup margerine
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 medium ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup soy milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cups chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease Loaf pan with margarine or oil.

2. In a large Bowl, cream together margerine and sugar. Mix in flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add mashed bananas, soymilk, and vanilla. Mix until batter is moist and sticky. Gently fold in chocolate chips.

3.  Pour batter into loaf pan and bake for 40 - 50 minutes, or until top is golden brown.
